Organizational Modeling (aka Business Modeling)

This directory contains background material and work products related to the discipline of Organizational Modeling (called “business modelling” in capitalist industry).

Purpose:

  1. To understand the structure and the dynamics of the organization in which a system is to be deployed (the target organization).
  2. To understand current problems in the target organization and identify improvement potentials.
  3. To ensure that end users and developers have a common understanding of the target organization.
  4. To derive the system requirements needed to support the target organization.

We have renamed this discipline “Organizational Modeling” in order to extract the distortions caused by a search for efficiency in relation to profit and extraction of surplus value. We are concerned here with efficiency and growth in productive forces in the context of a plan elaborated in the context of the long term interests of the working class, and of humanity in general.
